If you don't find what you are looking for on page one (which we hope you do), you can click into individual Search Categories for more results.

Stream > New Images in OpenAsset Posts

New Images in OpenAsset posts have been redesigned to automatically include a slideshow of new images.

Images are displayed in the following order: Primary Image first, then by Rank Ascending (Rank 1's, then 2's, etc) and then by Date Descending.

If you currently have the “New Images in DAM System” option checked in Stream Configuration, you don’t have to do anything. Going forward, New Images posts will include the image slideshow. (However, posts created before the upgrade to Synthesis 5 will not display images.)

If you currently have “New Images in DAM System” turned off in Stream Configuration, you’ll need to check on the "Enable New Image(s) Posts" in Stream Configuration to start receiving automatic posts in the stream.

Stream > Post Directly to a Topic

You can now post directly to a Topic (Hashtag) in Synthesis 5.

General > OpenAsset Viewer Web Part

The OpenAsset Viewer Web Part has been redesigned to display a slideshow of new images. The slideshow can optionally be configured to automatically advance through images and can be placed in either the center column or right column of a SharePoint page.

Management Tools > Streamlined Configuration

We streamlined Stream Configuration in Synthesis 5 to fit on a single page and simplified the configuration tools.

Recently Uploaded Images Web Part (Replaced)

The Recently Uploaded Images web part in not available in Synthesis 5. It has been replaced by the New Images in OpenAsset Stream Item functionality described above.

Create Vision Activities from Synthesis Posts (Removed)

We introduced the ability to create Vision Activities from Synthesis Posts a few years ago. Due to lack of adoption by clients and the inherent complexity in maintaining and supporting this feature, we have removed this functionality from Synthesis 5.

Automated Posts for New Document Uploads (Removed)

We introduced the ability to automatically create posts when users uploaded new documents to Synthesis a few years ago. Due to lack of adoption by clients and the inherent complexity in maintaining and supporting this feature, we have removed this functionality from Synthesis 5.

However, SharePoint Documents can still be attached to Posts via Share Something and Blog Posts.

Marketing Campaign Integration (Removed)

We removed Marketing Campaign Profiles, Directories, and Tags in Synthesis 5. In addition, Marketing Campaigns are not included in Synthesis 5 Search. We made this decision due to both a lack of adoption by clients and the inherent complexity in maintaining and supporting this functionality.

However, if you would like to display a list of Marketing Campaigns in a directory, we can do that using Custom SQL Directories. Just let us know via support@knowledge-architecture.com.
